Oscar Eugene Lussier, Jr. (lovingly known as Gene or "Papa Geno") was born on January 9th, 1939 in Woonsocket, RI to Anna Baxter Lussier and Oscar Eugene Lussier Sr. He grew up the only son in a family of four children. Throughout his young adult life, he spent time serving with the Rhode Island National Guard and studying business and management at what is now Northeastern University.

Gene had a diverse and exciting self-made career beginning in 1958 when he became involved in the broadcast radio business. He then went on to a multitude of successful careers in electronic manufacturing, real estate and technical advising in the electronics industry. His life and work spanned from Costa Mesa, CA to Washington, DC to New England to Southern and Central FL. Gene considered Ft. Lauderdale, FL home but also enjoyed spending many summers and falls on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. Sadly, Gene passed away on Thursday June 15th, 2017 after suffering a massive stroke and subsequent heart attack at Broward Health North's Vitas Hospice Unit. He died peacefully while in the company of his oldest granddaughter, who was singing Amazing Grace to him at the time of his passing.

Gene was happiest when spending time with the love of his life, Linda Belle Lussier, his three children, other family and many friends across the country. Gene also had a deep love for golf, boating, fishing, and a good glass of Dewars. He was a vibrant man who sought adventure in life, was known for his endless optimism and his unique ability to treat everyone he met with genuine friendship.

Gene is survived by his loving wife Linda Lussier, three children- Dianne Eib (husband Rob Eib), Elaine Green (husband Jay Green) and Jim Lussier (wife Anne Lussier), one sister - Jeanne Spyrka (husband Tony Spyrka), grandchildren Meredith Eib, Alex Eib and Hailey Lussier and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends, his pre-deceased two sisters Anna Cecile Bowe, Dorothy Dawalga and loving step-mother Grace Lussier. Gene had countless loved ones and, in turn, was loved by all. He will be deeply missed, but certainly never forgotten.

Friends, family and acquaintances are welcome to attend a visitation at Kraeer Funeral Home on 1199 East Sample Road, Deerfield Beach, FL on Tuesday, June 20th with calling hours from 8:30-10am. A Catholic Mass in celebration of Gene's life will be held immediately following visitation hours at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church (5201 Military Trail Northwest 9th Ave, Deerfield Beach, FL) at 10:30 am.]

Arrangements under the direction of Kraeer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pompano Beach, FL.
